HOLLA alternatives

A HOLLA alternative that does not share your location

Looking for a HOLLA app alternative? Hush matches you by vibe, not location, for voice notes and writing. No live video, no photos, age checks at signup.

Qustodio reported in 2022 that Apple had removed HOLLA from the App Store after complaints of unwanted sexual content.

What HOLLA is

HOLLA is a live random video chat app with two modes: one connects you with a random stranger, and a Nearby mode uses your location to show people close to you. A paid tier unlocks full profiles and gender and location search.

Why people look for a HOLLA alternative

01

Nearby means nearby

Location-based matching helps you find people close by, and that is exactly what safety reviewers worry about when a stranger turns out to be the wrong person.

02

Store reviews describe explicit video

Common Sense Media cites app store reviews describing adults exposing themselves on camera, which drives many users away.

03

A lot depends on the paid tier

Full profiles and gender and location search sit behind HOLLA Prime, and Common Sense found the filters did not work as expected.

The best HOLLA alternatives

  1. 1

    HushNo camera, no photos

Hush suits HOLLA users who want to meet someone new without broadcasting where they are or what they look like. There is no Nearby radar, no live camera and no photo. You talk by voice or text with one person who chose the same vibe, and you can leave in one tap.

  2. 2

    Azar

Random one-on-one video with a safety blur and translation.

  3. 3

    Hily

If nearby matches were really about dating, a verified dating app is more direct.

  4. 4

    Chatspin

Mobile random video with face masks if you want to stay partly hidden.

When HOLLA is still the better pick

Stay with HOLLA if meeting people physically near you is the goal, or if you prefer live video to voice notes. Those are things it is built for and Hush is not.
